La Grange To Get New LED Streetlights

The town council of La Grange, N.C. voted unanimously to replace the it’s 345 mercury vapor streetlights with energy efficient LED streetlights. La Grange will pay a total of $168,864 for the lights with $155,475 of the money coming from a grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The town is buying lights from three different vendors, Stuart C. Irby of Rocky Mount, WESCO of Raleigh and PowerServices, Inc. also of Raleigh, in a move that will save the town around $8,000. After installation the town will save around 50% on energy costs and also lower maintenance costs.
