Everglades Summer Fun

I found this excellent article by Marjie Lambert McClatchy in the Travel section of the Eau Claire, WI Leader-Telegram. It gives really good information about visiting Everglades National Park in the ‘off’ season of summer. Being a South Florida native I can tell you there suggestions are right on.
Summer is when orchids and other wildflowers thrive and bloom in profusion.
Morning is the best time for a bike ride.
Tram tours continue year-round along with Ranger-led walks and talks.
Kirby Storter Roadside Park has a half-mile long elevated boardwalk that leads through prairie, dwarf cypress and cypress strands.
The park is pitch black at night so late-night stargazing is excellent.
There is lots to do in the Everglades during the summer. Stop by and check it out for yourself.
