Memphis Airport Gets New M Planter

The 10 year old M shaped flower bed that greets visitors as they enter the Memphis airport is being replaced with a stainless steel letters that spell out Memphis. The new planter will be four times the size of the old one and will be illuminated with LED lights. The planter sits on the side of a steep slope along the side of Plough Boulevard as you enter the airport. The new planter is part of a $1.6 million dollar beautification project funded by the Memphis City Council and grants from the state that also includes the planting of trees and flowers.
