LED’s Help Save Whales

Pacific Whale Foundation has always encourages staff members to come up with new ideas about ways the foundation can save energy and increase conservation. So when Tapani Vuori suggested they switch conventional lights to energy-efficient LED lighting at there offices and Ocean Stores in Ma’alaea and Lahaina they quickly jumped on board. Hawaii Energy’s “Lighting the Future” program provided the 246 LED bulbs free of charge, saving Pacific Whale Foundation up to 75 percent in lighting electricity costs. Pacific Whale Foundation should save around $50,000 per year with the new lights giving them more money to spend on research, education and conservation programs.

Reduce your carbon footprint and save money on lighting bills by installing underwater LED lights.
